Space Age Sputnik Pedant Lamp by Doria, Germany, 1970s can be placed on hold for 24 Hours.
This large hand blown pendant lamp was made by the German manufacturer Doria in the 1970s. The beautiful hand blown glass sphere is mounted on brass colored base.
These high quality light sculpture not only function as light sources but also as a sculptural component.
The sphere is purposely created to be filled with random bubbles and pockets of air within the glass that capture and refract light from the interior bulbs to demonstrate the handcrafted origin. When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing silver colored lamp holders with E27 sockets with brass colored mirror head bulbs of different heights along with an arrangements of glass cubes.
The arrangement is reminiscent of the Atomium structure in Brussels, Belgium that made its debut in 1958 and ushered in a physical embodiment of the Atomic Age.
The light sculpture is in good condition. The light fixture is cleaned, well-wired and ready to use. Mirror head bulbs are included in the price.
We can supply, free of charge any length and color of cable or rod. The light requires three single E27 screw fit light bulbs (60 watt max.).
