Pair of Space Age Brass and Blown Glass Lighs by Doria, 1970s

We offer an amazing and unique pair of large Space Age light fixtures. The set was made by in Germany, Doria in the 1970s.

These heavy quality light sculptures not only function as light sources but also as a sculptural components. The arrangement is reminiscent of the Atomium structure in Brussels, Belgium that made its debut in 1958 and ushered in a physical embodiment of the atomic age.

The spheres of the light fixtures were purposely created to be filled with random bubbles and pockets of air within the glass that capture and refract light from the interior bulbs to demonstrate their handcrafted origin. When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing four brass lamp holders with E27 sockets with gold colored mirror head bulbs of different heights along with an arrangements of solid brass spheres also at various heights.

Measures: The size 15″ diameter x 31.5″ height.

The frames will be rebrassed. Please notice the lead time will be of 6-7 weeks. In the offered price the re- brassing is included.
