Pair of Space Age Light Fixtures Doria, 1970s

We offer an amazing and unique pair of large Space Age light fixture. The set was made by the German manufacturer Doria in the 1970s.

These heavy quality light sculptures not only function as light sources but also as a sculptural components. To build a beautiful composition.

The spheres of the four-light fixtures were purposely created to be filled with random bubbles and pockets of air within the glass that capture and refract light from the interior bulbs to demonstrate their handcrafted origin. When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing four chrome colored lamp holders with E27 sockets with silver colored mirror head bulbs of different heights along with an arrangements of solid chrome spheres also at various heights.

The arrangement is reminiscent of the Atomium structure in Brussels, Belgium that made its debut in 1958 and ushered in a physical embodiment of the atomic age.

The frames are in good condition. The large blown globes are all original and also in very good condition.
They are cleaned and are well-wired and ready to use. Mirror head bulbs are included in the price.
