Shine a light over 2027
Candelabras for the Christmas table
Every year brings something new. Some things, though, return each December unchanged: the table, the people around it, the candles. This season we gathered candelabras and candleholders, many of them made decades ago, ready to light a new table, a new interior and a new year.
What changes, and what stays
Each new year arrives with plans we can’t yet picture. The rituals around the table move more slowly. A candle is lit the way it was a century ago, and the candelabras that hold it may well be older than anyone seated at dinner.
That is what we love about pieces that already exist. Their form was settled long ago, yet they read differently in every room they enter. The object stays the same. The interior gives it a second life.
Made once, and made well
Nothing in this selection was produced for this season. Each piece was made years or decades ago, and made to last.
That is the difference you notice up close: the weight of solid metal, a surface softened by age, glass that is never quite the same twice. Choosing a piece that already exists keeps that craftsmanship in use, instead of replacing it with something new.

UP CLOSE
An openwork cup, a stem that bends like a stalk. The details show real craftsmanship
Nothing in this selection was made for this season. That is exactly why it belongs on the table.
After the holidays
Candelabras rarely go back in the box with the ornaments. On a sideboard, a mantel or a dining table, they keep their presence through the rest of winter and beyond, lit or unlit.
We can’t tell you what 2027 will bring. We do know what a lit candle does: it gathers people, slows the evening down and makes a room feel warmer. We hope the new year holds many of those evenings, for you and for everyone at your table.
